If you\u2019re having trouble with poor text or image quality on your printer, Windows 10 makes it easy to print a test page. We\u2019ll show you how to do it.<\/p>\n

Windows 10\u2019s built-in test page feature works for all printers, so you can use it with your HP, Epson, Canon, and other printers. Before you begin, make sure that your printer\u2019s paper tray is loaded with paper.<\/p>\n

To get started, we\u2019ll need to open Control Panel. To do so, click the \u201cStart\u201d button, search for \u201cControl Panel,\u201d and select its icon in the search results.<\/p>\n

In \u201cControl Panel,\u201d in the top-right corner of the window, click \u201cView By,\u201d and then choose \u201cCategory\u201d from the menu. This shows Control Panel options in a category mode. Next, in the same \u201cControl Panel\u201d window, locate the \u201cHardware and Sound\u201d section and click \u201cView Devices and Printers.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the \u201cDevices and Printers\u201d window that opens, scroll down to the \u201cPrinters\u201d section. Here, right-click the printer that you want to test and select \u201cPrinter Properties\u201d in the menu.<\/p>\n

Windows 10 will open the printer\u2019s Properties window. At the top of this window, click the \u201cGeneral<\/a>\u201d tab. Then, click \u201cPrint Test Page\u201d at the bottom of the window to start printing a sample page.<\/p>\n

Your printer will print a test page, and it will look something like this:<\/p>\n

That\u2019s all there is to it. Repeat as often as necessary, but be aware that each test page you print uses up some of your ink.<\/p>\n
