And whenever someone attempts to revive a classic horror <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> like this, people wonder how much of the material is going to be changed. The answer from David Bruckner: not much! When the project was first announced, it was described as being \u201cloyal, yet evolved,\u201d which is pretty vague. Now, Bruckner has added a vague comment of his own, claiming the movie will be a \u201csmall reimagining.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If there\u2019s one classic horror franchise that could use a fresh coat of paint, it\u2019s\u00a0<em>Hellraiser<\/em>. A lot of the\u00a0<em>Hellraiser<\/em> movies have their gooey charms, but let\u2019s get real: most of the movies in this series are bad, bad, bad. There\u2019s nowhere to go but up at this point. While speaking with\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesradar.com\/hellraiser-reboot-director-teases-the-upcoming-horror-movie\/\">SFX Magazine<\/a>, Bruckner was understandably vague, starting off with: \u201cWe can\u2019t say anything about it yet\u2026But it is something that we are actively working towards, and it is a joy and a dream for a filmmaker like myself to dive into that world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Bruckner then went on to say: \u201cAll I\u2019ll say is that we are aiming to be as true as we can to the original material. <em>The Hellbound Heart<\/em> is also a primary source of inspiration, as well as the original film. But then it is something of a small reimagining.\u201d Hmm\u2026so, uh, what does \u201csmall reimagining\u201d mean? No idea! Best guess: Bruckner isn\u2019t going to stray too far from the source material.<\/p>\n<p>He cites\u00a0<em>The Hellbound Heart<\/em>, Clive Barker\u2019s novella that inspired the film, as a \u201cprimary source of inspiration,\u201d and that might be a clue. While the original\u00a0<em>Hellraiser<\/em> sticks to the book \u2013 since Clive Barker adapted himself, after all \u2013 there are a few differences. In\u00a0<em>Hellraiser<\/em>, one of the main characters is Kristy, niece of creepy, skinless antagonist Frank Cotton. However, in the novella, Kristy is actually a friend of the family, not related. In truth, changing Kristy to be related to Frank is the better move since it makes her more connected to the main story. But perhaps this is what Bruckner is hinting at. Or perhaps I\u2019m very wrong! While Bruckner\u2019s\u00a0<em>Hellraiser<\/em> is a movie headed to Hulu, HBO is developing their own separate\u00a0<em>Hellraiser<\/em> project \u2013 a TV series that will feature a pilot directed by\u00a0<em>Halloween<\/em> filmmaker\u00a0David Gordon Green.\u00a0<strong>Michael Dougherty<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>Trick \u2018r Treat<\/em>) and<b>\u00a0<strong>Mark Verheiden\u00a0<\/strong><\/b>are on board as writers. And, perhaps most important of all, Clive Barker is also going to be serving as an executive producer. It\u2019s unclear what, if any, involvement Barker will have with Bruckner\u2019s movie. When Barker\u2019s involvement in the TV show was announced, he said he was \u201cdelighted the\u00a0<em>Hellraiser<\/em>\u00a0mythology is seeing a new life. It\u2019s time the stories went back to their roots.
