A second rebel flag was also found at the building, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>The incident marked the third time in two weeks that a Pride flag at the organization went missing, the article said. Church leaders reportedly brushed of the prior thefts but called police after the \u201cStars and Bars,\u201d commonly used as a white supremacist\u00a0symbol, were found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have reported this as a hate crime,\u201d Bret Gresham, a minister at Wesley, initially <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/revgresh\/status\/1424000792172933128\">tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gresham later walked that statement back and reportedly wrote he didn\u2019t necessarily think it was.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are just saying we denounce all forms of hate and intimidation,\u201d he stated, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>paper.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia Tech condemned the crime and said they would help police find the perps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIncidents like this remind us that the journey to equity and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> justice \u2014 whether in our community or others across the country \u2014 will be long and hard-fought,\u201d the university said <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/vtx.vt.edu\/articles\/2021\/08\/university-statement-081121.html\">in a statement Wednesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The incident comes amid a reckoning of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriateness of displaying the once omnipresent symbol in the southern states.\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
