The movie is already playing overseas, and will come to our shores this December. Which means that if you want to, you can gather the entire family and head to the theater on Christmas Day to watch the director of\u00a0<em>RoboCop<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Showgirls<\/em> tell the story of s<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>hic nuns in the\u00a017th century.<\/p>\n<p>Deadline broke the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> that the\u00a0<em>Benedetta<\/em> release date is set for\u00a0<strong>December 3, 2021<\/strong> here in the United States. IFC Films will release Verhoeven\u2019s latest both theatrically and on VOD \u2013 so if you don\u2019t want to venture out to a theater you can watch it from the safety of your own home. Theatrically, the movie will play in\u00a0New York at the IFC Center and Film Lincoln Center and in LA at the Royal and the Alamo Drafthouse.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->In\u00a0<em>Benedetta<\/em>, \u201cA 17th-century nun in Italy suffers from disturbing religious and erotic visions. Here\u2019s the synopsis:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The discovery of the fascinating and richly documented story of Sister Benedetta Carlini, Abbess of the Convent of the Mother of God, by Judith C. Brown was an event of major historical importance. Not only is the story revealed in\u00a0<em>Immodest Acts<\/em>\u00a0that of the rise and fall of a powerful woman in a church community and a record of the life of a religious visionary, it is also the earliest documentation of lesbianism in modern Western history. Born of well-to-do parents, Benedetta Carlini entered the convent at the age of nine. At twenty-three, she began to have visions of both a religious and erotic nature. Benedetta was elected abbess due largely to these visions, but later aroused suspicions by claiming to have had supernatural<br \/>contacts with Christ. During the course of an investigation, church authorities not only found that she had faked her visions and stigmata, but uncovered evidence of a lesbian affair with another nun, Bartolomeo.
