{"id":323497,"date":"2021-08-13T21:36:10","date_gmt":"2021-08-13T18:36:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/hackers-behind-610m-crypto-heist-return-money-may-get-bug-bounty\/"},"modified":"2021-08-13T21:36:10","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T18:36:10","slug":"hackers-behind-610m-crypto-heist-return-money-may-get-bug-bounty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/hackers-behind-610m-crypto-heist-return-money-may-get-bug-bounty\/","title":{"rendered":"#Hackers behind $610M crypto heist return money, may get \u2018bug bounty\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Hackers behind $610M crypto heist return money, may get \u2018bug bounty\u2019<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>The hackers who pulled off the largest cryptocurrency heist in history \u201cfor fun\u201d have returned the money \u2014 and the company that they stole from wants to pay them for their service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The decentralized finance platform that was hacked, called Poly Network, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PolyNetwork2\/status\/1425870262067548163\">confirmed<\/a> late Thursday that the hackers had returned all of the roughly $610 million worth of stolen Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies, with the exception of $33 million worth of the \u201cstablecoin\u201d Tether that had been frozen by its creator.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Poly Network also offered the hackers a reward of $500,000 \u2014 or less than one percent of the stolen crypto \u2014 for exposing flaws in the platform\u2019s security.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, the hackers stole the $610 million in crypto, then began gradually returning the money in installments.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a blockchain-based question-and-answer session Thursday, the hackers explained in broken English that they had pulled off the heist \u201cfor fun\u201d rather than profit. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAsk yourself what to do had you facing so much fortune,\u201d the hacker said. \u201cAsking the project team politely so that they can fix it?
