We\u2019ve known Czerny would be returning to reprise that role 25 years later in the upcoming <strong><em>Mission: Impossible 7<\/em><\/strong>, and now writer\/director <strong>Christopher McQuarrie<\/strong> has shared a new image of Kittridge on the film\u2019s set. Assuming this new photo from McQuarrie is actually a shot that will actually show up in the upcoming movie (probably in color instead of black and white), McQuarrie is paying homage to director Brian De Palma, who used extreme canted angles to great effect in the original scene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe made sure that there were no nose hairs that were going to keep people\u2019s attention away from the scene,\u201d he told \/Film as he reflected on filming that scene in an interview earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Czerny\u2019s performance is a huge part of the reason that scene works so well. He plays it all with a supreme sense of smugness (note the \u201cyeah\u201d at the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KOi9hHjmYq4\">:26 mark<\/a> that\u2019s just <em>dripping<\/em> with arrogant disdain), like he\u2019s showing up to a battle with the foreknowledge that he\u2019s already won and there\u2019s nothing his opponent can do about it. Of course, Kittridge could never imagine that Hunt would upend the entire thing by blowing up the aquarium, and it sounds like in the intervening years, he\u2019s gone out of his way to make sure something like that would not happen again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWhat has [Kittridge] been doing all these years?\u201d Czerny said when we spoke with him. \u201c[McQuarrie] wasn\u2019t all that concerned about that. I was. I decided that he\u2019d been to all the agencies on some level or other, had a good idea now of how the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> is played and what his place is in this mechanism of national intelligence.
