His bars are on point, and the story-telling is there, but East\u2019s use of inflections shines bright on the album.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">During an interview with\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ebro Darden<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le Music 1, Dave East explained how a studio session with\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">J. Cole<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0led to the\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Survival\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">rapper getting advice on experimenting with his voice on the album.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cI got a chance to lock in with J. Cole, just me and him in the studio with the engineer,\u201d East explained. \u201cAnd he asked that same question, like, \u2018Bro, I\u2019m a fan of what you do, I really respect your pen, but you rap with one tone.\u2019 And I really sat and listened to myself, and a lot of my shit is one tone.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 660px; overflow: hidden; background: transparent;\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.music.apple.com\/us\/post\/1580651363\" height=\"371\" frameborder=\"0\" sandbox=\"allow-forms allow-popups allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-storage-access-by-user-activation allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He continued, \u201cMe and him in the studio testing tones. He\u2019s just really seeing how high I can take my voice, how low I can take it, and then he just was like, \u2018Apply that to your music. Watch the difference. That\u2019s just something I gotta keep working at, keep working at. I think it will be something dope to add to my music.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Dave East also explained how important it was for him to lock in with one producer,\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Harry Fraud<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, on\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">H<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">offa<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to the Def Jam rapper, he could focus on the music and not worry about all the extra stuff that comes with working with several producers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Harry Fraud co-signed East\u2019s statement saying, \u201cThat\u2019s what the producer is supposed to do. A lot of rappers have become vocal producers in their own rights. It\u2019s my job to make sure all they have to do is rap.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He added, \u201cOf course, I want their input. I want Dave\u2019s input on everything. But he shouldn\u2019t have to be pulling his hair out worrying about anything but rapping, especially when we\u2019re creating.
