Once upon a dime in Hollywood, a mother defended her inglorious bastard of a son.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Quentin Tarantino recently revealed that from dusk \u2019til dawn, he\u2019s kept a childhood promise to never share a cent of his earnings with his mother because of a single comment she made bashing his writing career. Now, she\u2019s responded, and it would app<\/a>ear she has a natural born maternal instinct to defend him and his refusal to share his killer Hollywood profits.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was bitching at me,\u201d the 58-year-old told \u201cBillions\u201d co-creator Brian Koppelman on his acclaimed podcast \u201cThe Moment\u201d<\/a> of an adolescent instance in which his mom chastised him for writing screenplays<\/a> in elementary school. \u201c[Then] in the middle of her little tirade, she said, \u2018Oh, and by the way, this little \u201cwriting career,\u201d\u2018 with the finger quotes and everything. \u2018This little \u201cwriting career\u201d that you\u2019re doing? That s\u2013t is over!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd when she said that to me in that sarcastic way, I was in my head, and I go, \u2018OK, lady. When I become a successful writer, you will never see penny one from my success. There will be no house for you. There\u2019s no vacation for you, no Elvis Cadillac for Mommy. You get nothing. Because you said that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

And despite his massive subsequent success, he stuck by his promise.<\/p>\n

\u201cI helped her out with a jam with the IRS. But no house. No Cadillac, no house,\u201d he clarified. \u201cThere are consequences for your words as you deal with your children, remember there are consequences for your sarcastic tone about what\u2019s meaningful to them.\u201d<\/p>\n

His mother, Connie Zastoupil \u2014 who was reportedly just 16 when she had Tarantino \u2014 has since defended her son over her own parenting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cRegarding my son Quentin \u2014 I support him, I\u2019m proud of him and love him and his growing new family,\u201d she told USA Today<\/a> in a Wednesday statement. \u201cIt gave me great joy to dance at his wedding and receive his news<\/a> upon the birth of my grandson Leo.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then critiqued the media<\/a> instead of her own son\u2019s disparagement of her mothering.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy for podcast comments to \u201cspin and go viral without full context\u201d she said, adding she does \u201cnot wish to participate in this salacious transactional media frenzy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zastoupil did not respond to Page Six\u2019s repeated calls for comment, and her voicemail box is full.\u00a0<\/p>\n
