{"id":324537,"date":"2021-08-13T15:08:42","date_gmt":"2021-08-13T12:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/tony-bennett-retires-from-singing-live-amid-alzheimers-battle\/"},"modified":"2021-08-13T15:08:42","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T12:08:42","slug":"tony-bennett-retires-from-singing-live-amid-alzheimers-battle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/tony-bennett-retires-from-singing-live-amid-alzheimers-battle\/","title":{"rendered":"#Tony Bennett retires from singing live amid Alzheimer&#8217;s battle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Tony Bennett retires from singing live amid Alzheimer&#8217;s battle<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>One of the most iconic golden voices in pop music history has been silenced. <\/p>\n<p>Tony Bennett has officially retired from singing live, canceling his 2021 tour dates in the wake of an at times heart-wrenching <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance billed as \u201cOne Last Time\u201d in New York City. <\/p>\n<p>The 95-year-old \u2014 who\u2019s fought a years-long public battle with Alzheimer\u2019s disease \u2014 has nixed the rescheduled shows, which were already delayed in 2020 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere won\u2019t be any additional concerts,\u201d his son Danny Bennett, 66, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2021\/music\/news\/tony-bennett-danny-concerts-canceled-radio-city-music-hall-1235040769\/\">confirmed to Variety<\/a> Friday. \u201cThis was a hard decision for us to make, as he is a capable performer. One, however, that was made by doctors\u2019 orders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not the singing aspect but, rather, the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>ing. Look, he gets tired,\u201d Danny, his father\u2019s manager of the last 40-plus years, continued. \u201cThe decision is being made that doing concerts now is just too much for him. We don\u2019t want him to fall on stage, for instance \u2014 something as simple as that. We\u2019re not worried about him being able to sing. We are worried, from a physical stand point \u2026 about human nature. Tony\u2019s 95.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cI Left My Heart in San Francisco\u201d crooner\u2019s tour was originally set to relaunch in September in\u00a0Mashantucket,\u00a0Connecticut. The additional affected dates include New York, Maryland, Oklahoma and Canada. Ticket-holders are advised to contact the venues for information regarding refunds.<\/p>\n<p>This latest development, sure to devastate loyal fans of the singer, comes on the heels of his pair of weepy shows with Lady Gaga \u2014 the presciently titled \u201cOne Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga\u201d \u2014 at Radio City Music Hall on Aug. 3 and Aug. 5. <\/p>\n<p>The concerts were a celebration with a caveat: Phone cameras were banned, so as to not flood <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> with fan clips. Attendants locked them away in security pouches as concertgoers arrived \u2014\u00a0but The Post was there to witness the historic moment. Bennett, of course, oozed style in his suit and tie.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the lyrics to his signature tunes, the only words Bennett uttered throughout the show were \u201cBeautiful\u201d and \u201cBeautiful night.\u201d But he still possessed that unmistakable golden vocal touch. <\/p>\n<p>And Gaga,\u00a0who collaborated with him on a 2014 album, seems to agree wholeheartedly, believing perhaps that Bennett has more great stuff to give. I speak for the whole family in thanking his wonderful wife Susan for all the support and love she has given to him. Our wish is that by openly sharing his challenges with Alzheimer\u2019s that we will give hope to all that face this condition and will help end the stigma surrounding this disease.
