This can lead to some confusion when you get a new Galaxy device and you\u2019re confronted with unfamiliar things. \u201cSamsung Free\u201d is a prominent one, so what is it?<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Artist_Formerly_Known_as_Bixby_Home\"><\/span>The Artist Formerly Known as Bixby Home<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If the name \u201cSamsung Free\u201d sounds unfamiliar to you, perhaps you\u2019d recognize \u201cBixby Home\u201d or \u201cSamsung Daily.\u201d All of these services are more or less the same thing. \u201cSamsung Free\u201d is just the latest branding.<\/p>\n<p>Bixby Home was introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S8 <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>. The concept is similar to the Google Discover panel on Pixel phones. It\u2019s essentially a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> feed that lives on the left-most home screen panel in Samsung\u2019s default launcher.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung Daily replaced Bixby Home in 2019, and it retained all of the same features. Samsung has been slowly dialing back its usage of the Bixby branding, and this move was part of that.<\/p>\n<p>That brings us to the latest iteration, Samsung Free, which was introduced along with One UI 3.0 in late 2020. As with the other rebrands, the functionality is pretty much the same. The content includes news articles, podcasts, live TV, and even <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s. This is the company\u2019s live TV service that comes on its smart TVs and mobile devices. It\u2019s organized into a bunch of different categories with popular and recommended podcasts in each. The Listen tab also includes a built-in podcast player. It\u2019s a similar concept to the Google Discover feed, but with fewer personalization options. The neat thing about these games is that you don\u2019t have to install anything to play them. All you need is the \u201cGame Launcher,\u201d which is already on your Galaxy device. That is, if you even want to use Samsung\u2019s built-in launcher.
