Don\u2019t get me wrong. I know how difficult it is at this age to do another surgery and try it. But I want to be healthy and I\u2019ll go through the rehab process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Federer said it will be months before he\u2019ll even consider returning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you can imagine it\u2019s not been simple,\u2019\u2019 Federer said. \u201cI\u2019ve been doing a lot of checks with doctor on my knee, getting all the information as I hurt myself further in the grasscourt season\u00a0 and Wimbledon. It\u2019s not the way to go forward. Unfortunately to go forward for the medium to long-term to feel better, I will need surgery.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-instagram wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram\"\/>\u201cI\u2019ll be on crutches for many weeks and out of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> for many months,\u2019\u2019 Federer added. \u201cIt will be difficult but I know it\u2019s the right thing to do. \u2018\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Tennis sources believe Federer has planned his last pro event to be at Wimbledon, so his withdrawal at the US Open means he may never again compete at Flushing Meadows.<\/p>\n<p>Federer is tied with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal for the most men\u2019s Grand Slam titles (20), but many observers still regard him as the most artistic player of all time.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic is looking to set the new record for most majors when the Open begins Aug. 30.
