{"id":325423,"date":"2021-08-15T23:53:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-15T20:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/moms-with-kids-increased-drinking-by-323-after-start-of-covid\/"},"modified":"2021-08-15T23:53:00","modified_gmt":"2021-08-15T20:53:00","slug":"moms-with-kids-increased-drinking-by-323-after-start-of-covid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/moms-with-kids-increased-drinking-by-323-after-start-of-covid\/","title":{"rendered":"#Moms with kids increased drinking by 323% after start of COVID"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Moms with kids increased drinking by 323% after start of COVID<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Moms with young kids increased their booze consumption by nearly 325 percent between the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and the end of last year, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/trend-of-increased-alcohol-consumption-held-steady-as-pandemic-dragged-on-new-survey-results-show-301353729.html\">a new study suggests.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The research \u2014 conducted by the nonprofit RTI International for the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism \u2014 was part two\u00a0of a study launched in 2020 to analyze the pandemic\u2019s effects on American drinking habits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The latest figures found that overall US drinking consumption was 39 percent higher in November 2020 than the previous February, before the virus hit the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> recommended drinking guidelines for men allow up to four drinks per day but no more than 14 drinks per week, while for women, it\u2019s no more than three drinks a day or seven drinks per week, according to the study.<\/p>\n<p>Americans exceeding those guidelines increased by 27 percent from February and April of 2020 \u2014 and jumped to 39 percent between February and November, the new study found.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, binge drinking that increased 26 percent between February and April 2020 only jumped further, to 30 percent, between February and November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur study shows that people didn\u2019t just increase their alcohol consumption for a month or two at the beginning of the pandemic \u2014 the trend held for nearly the entire year,\u201d said Carolina Barbosa, a health economist at RTI, in a statement. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/alcohol-071.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"woman drinking\" class=\"wp-image-19139188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/alcohol-071.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/alcohol-071.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/alcohol-071.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>This was part two\u00a0of a study launched in 2020 to analyze the pandemic\u2019s effects on American drinking habits.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIncreases in alcohol consumption have been associated with natural disasters and other large-scale events that induce stress and anxiety, and a pandemic certainly fits that de<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp;
