Apple had us all excited for SharePlay\u00a0on iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15, and macOS Monterey, but the company has just announced that the feature won\u2019t be ready to launch the new versions of its operating systems.<\/p>\n

In a statement to How-To Geek, Apple said, \u201cSharePlay has been disabled for use in the developer beta 6 versions of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and tvOS 15, and will be disabled in the upcoming beta 6 release of macOS Monterey.\u201d<\/p>\n

This was one of Apple\u2019s heavily touted features for iOS 15, so the company must be facing some serious issues for it to be willing to delay the feature. The feature allowed people to watch TV shows, movies<\/a>, music, and other forms of entertainment together in perfect sync.<\/p>\n

The company also said that the feature wouldn\u2019t be ready for the final release of the operating systems in the fall.<\/p>\n

\u201cSharePlay will also be disabled for use in their initial releases this fall. SharePlay will be enabled for use again in future developer beta releases and will launch to the public in software updates later this fall,\u201d Apple said in a statement.<\/p>\n

SharePlay is not dead, though, as Apple addressed developers creating apps with SharePlay, \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled with the high level of enthusiasm we\u2019ve seen from the developer community for SharePlay, and we can\u2019t wait to bring it to users so that they can experience your apps with their friends and family in a whole new way.\u201d<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll have to wait and see precisely when SharePlay will make its way to Apple devices, but for the time being, we\u2019ll have to be patient.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
