The series\u00a0is set to premiere on NHK on September 6.<\/p>\n

Headling the live-action version of\u00a0Komi Can’t Communicate<\/strong><\/em> is\u00a0Elaiza Ikeda<\/strong> (Kirari Momobami in\u00a0Kakegurui<\/strong><\/em>) as Komi, with\u00a0Takahisa Masuda<\/strong> from Johnny’s playing\u00a0Hitohito Tadano, who helps Komi find friendship. The series is set to begin on September 6 on NHK General<\/a> in Japan.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Komi Can\u2019t Communicate<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since May 2016 and has been collected into 20 volumes, with the 21st volume scheduled for release on May 21. Viz Media<\/a> translates the series into English and has so far released 12 volumes, with volume 13 scheduled for release on June 8, and volume 14 scheduled for August 10. Viz\u00a0describes<\/a>\u00a0the first volume as such:<\/p>\n

Timid Tadano is a total wallflower, and that\u2019s just the way he likes it. But all that changes when he finds himself alone in a classroom on the first day of high school with the legendary Komi. He quickly realizes she isn\u2019t aloof\u2014she\u2019s just super awkward. Now he\u2019s made it his mission to help her on her quest to make 100 friends!<\/em><\/p>\n

A TV anime adaptation is also in the works from\u00a0Mysterious Girlfriend X<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a>\u00a0director\u00a0Ayumu Watanabe<\/strong>\u00a0as the chief director on\u00a0Komi Can\u2019t Communicate<\/strong><\/em>, with\u00a0Kazuki Kawagoe<\/strong>\u00a0(storyboarder and episode director on\u00a0Beyblade Burst<\/strong><\/em>) as the director at OLM. It’s set to begin in October.<\/p>\n
