A former mixed martial arts star saved three children from a car wreck last week in which the kids\u2019 father was driving the wrong way on a highway. Brendan Schaub, a one-time 38-year-old UFC star, was headed to a restaurant in Encino, Calif. with his girlfriend when he saw the ugly accident involving a big truck and a 2003 Lincoln.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a 6 or 7-year-old on top of the car [waving for help], yelling for help and I\u2019m like, \u2018Babe, that\u2019s a fu\u2013ing kid. She\u2019s like, \u2018Just keep going,\u2019 and I\u2019m like no, it\u2019s a kid. Then he\u2019s pointing down and there\u2019s two other kids in the car,\u201d\u00a0Schaub recalled on his podcast,\u00a0\u201cThe Fighter and the Kid<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

He pulled over ahead of the crash and got out. When Schaub got near the vehicle, he saw the children inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe car\u2019s all fu\u2013ing mangled, and there\u2019s one other guy there who\u2019s on the scene, maybe it\u2019s the truck driver, I\u2019m not sure, but me and him are the first ones on the scene,\u201d Schaub said. \u201cThere\u2019s two kids and there\u2019s a bigger kid and he keeps going, \u2018I don\u2019t want to die, I don\u2019t want to die,\u2019 and I go, \u2018You\u2019re not going to die, buddy, you\u2019re not going to die.\u2019 I tell the guy back up, so I grab the door but it\u2019s mangled from the crash, so it\u2019s intertwined with the car.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I break the window, we break some of the window out. It\u2019s already broke, I\u2019m not like fu\u2013ing Captain America, so I\u2019m pulling all the shattered glass and I take the kid through [the window].\u201d<\/p>\n

The children\u2019s mother, Aimee Garcia, didn\u2019t make it. Their father, Cesar Iban Torre, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, child abuse, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest after he allegedly drove into oncoming traffic in an attempt to kill his own family.<\/p>\n

TMZ reported<\/a> Schaub seeing a shoeless man running from the wreckage, later identified as Torre. As Torre crossed the highway he was struck by another vehicle, leaving him stunned on the ground.\n <\/div>\n
