Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Ed Markey of Massachusetts called on FTC Chair Lina Khan to open an investigation and take \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriate enforcement action\u201d against the Elon Musk-led automaker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTesla\u2019s marketing has repeatedly overstated the capabilities of its vehicles, and these statements increasingly pose a threat to motorists and other users of the road,\u201d the senators wrote in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blumenthal.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/2021.08.18%20-%20FTC%20-%20Tesla.pdf\">letter<\/a> to Khan. \u201cTheir claims put Tesla drivers \u2013 and all of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>ing public \u2013 at risk of serious injury or death.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FTC spokesperson Mitchell J. The investigation could lead to a recall or other enforcement actions, the agency said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In Blumenthal and Markey\u2019s complaint, the senators pointed to several pieces of evidence including videos of Musk boasting over the past two years that the company was imminently close to deploying \u201cfull automation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/senator-blumenthal.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Sen. The state agency did not immediately reply to a request for an update for the probe on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The senators\u2019 call for an FTC probe comes at an awkward time for Tesla, which is hosting a splashy \u201cAutonomy Day\u201d for investors and the press on Thursday.
