The film, which stars\u00a0Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, and very handsome man Tony Leung, is the first Marvel Studios film with an Asian director and a predominantly Asian cast, and that\u2019s a big deal. And while\u00a0<em>Shang-Chi<\/em> is still a few weeks away, info about the film \u2013\u00a0<em>spoilery<\/em> info \u2013 is already finding its way online.<\/p>\n<p>For instance: we\u2019ve learned a familiar face from a past Marvel movie will be making an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance. This person confirmed it themselves. In public, even! If you want to learn who it is in advance, keep reading! If not, get the heck out of here! Consider this your <strong>spoiler<\/strong> warning.<\/p>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->In\u00a0<em>Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings<\/em>, Tony Leung plays\u00a0Wenwu, AKA The Mandarin. And fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will note that this isn\u2019t the first time the MCU used that character name. The Mandarin was infamously used in the excellent\u00a0<em>Iron Man 3<\/em>, where the character was played by <strong>Ben Kingsley<\/strong>. Sort of.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-555576 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/iron-man-3-mandarin-ben-kingsley-700x297.jpg\" alt=\"real mandarin mcu\" width=\"700\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/iron-man-3-mandarin-ben-kingsley-700x297.jpg 700w, https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/iron-man-3-mandarin-ben-kingsley-360x153.jpg 360w, https:\/\/d13ezvd6yrslxm.cloudfront.net\/wp\/wp-content\/images\/iron-man-3-mandarin-ben-kingsley-768x326.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Mandarins_Back_in_Ben_Kingsley_Form\"><\/span>The Mandarin\u2019s Back, in Ben Kingsley Form<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In\u00a0<em>Iron Man 3<\/em>, it\u2019s revealed that the man claiming to be the Mandarin is actually an actor named\u00a0Trevor Slattery who was hired by the movie\u2019s\u00a0<em>real<\/em> villain \u2013\u00a0Guy Pearce\u2019s Aldrich Killian \u2013 as a diversionary tactic. Some fans were\u00a0<em>very<\/em> pissed about this (more on that later!), but those people who wanted the\u00a0<em>actual<\/em> Mandarin in the film can take comfort in knowing that he\u2019s finally arriving, as played by Tony Leung.<\/p>\n<p>But we\u2019re not done with the fake Mandarin, either. During Monday\u2019s premiere of the film in Los Angeles, Ben Kingsley was on the red carpet \u2013 and let slip that he\u2019s appearing in\u00a0<em>Shang-Chi<\/em>, too:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAs you just saw, I was talking to Kevin Feige,\u201d Kingsley said (via <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/sir-ben-kingsley-confirms-his-mcu-return-in-shang-chi-and-the-legend-of-the-ten-rings-170618\">ET<\/a>), \u201cand thanks to Kevin and Robert Downey Jr. and Drew Pearce and Shane Black, I\u00a0<em>am\u00a0<\/em>in this movie and I\u2019m a member of the Marvel family, because their welcome on\u00a0<em>Iron Man 3<\/em>\u00a0was so astonishing and generous that I\u2019m still with Marvel again. And I\u2019m delighted to be here!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post_2 -->Having not seen\u00a0<em>Shang-Chi<\/em> yet, I don\u2019t know how big Kingsley\u2019s part is, or what it entails. My guess is it\u2019s a cameo, and also that the fake Mandarin will encounter the\u00a0<em>real<\/em> Mandarin. Why? The reasoning behind the fan-anger seemed to be that folks wanted Kingsley to be the\u00a0<em>real<\/em> Mandarin, not some fake-out. But I, on the other hand, had no such problem. I thought Kingsley\u2019s performance \u2013 both as the fake Mandarin and as the clueless\u00a0Trevor Slattery \u2013 was great, and I think\u00a0<em>Iron Man 3<\/em> is one of the best Marvel <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m glad Marvel isn\u2019t giving in to fan anger and ignoring Kingsley\u2019s character entirely.
