Phil Murphy is expected to announce that all teachers in New Jersey must be vaccinated for COVID-19 this school year, law officials have confirmed to local <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement is expected in the next few days, likely when the governor returns from his family vacation in Italy \u2014 a retreat that has garnered fierce criticism from his opponents.<\/p>\n<p>Details of the plan \u2014 such as whether or not teachers can choose instead to be tested for the virus weekly \u2014 have not yet been made available, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/coronavirus\/2021\/08\/murphy-to-announce-nj-teachers-must-be-vaccinated-for-covid-sources-say.html\">according to NJ Advance Media<\/a>, who first reported the likely mandate.<\/p>\n<p>The Gov.\u2019s intentions to mandate vaccinations for teachers was also confirmed by New Jersey State Senator Joseph Vitale, chairman of the state\u2019s Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.app.com\/story\/news\/new-jersey\/2021\/08\/19\/nj-teachers-vaccine-mandate-governor-murphy-announcement\/8199908002\/\">Asbury Park Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNJEA strongly supports and has publicly promoted vaccination for all eligible individuals. We ran ads last spring featuring our members talking about the importance of vaccination. Vaccination is the best tool we have to better protect our schools and communities,\u201d NJEA spokesman Steven Baker said in a statement to The Post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew Jersey does not yet have a vaccine or testing requirement for school employees. We believe that a \u2018vaccine or testing\u2019 requirement like we saw in Gov. Murphy\u2019s EO covering healthcare workers is <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriate and responsible. If the Governor\u2019s executive order requiring vaccination or regular testing in certain other sectors is extended to schools, we will work to ensure that it is implemented in a way that protects the health and welfare of everyone involved.
