Luckily though, there\u2019s an easy fix: <em>use an age-old body modification scarring ritual to sear a permanent information conduit into your soft skin.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Or at least that\u2019s what one young Italian dude seems to believe. Earlier this week, tattoo artist Gabriele Pellerone tattooed a QR code of the client\u2019s official EU covid certificate on their upper arm, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ilreggino.it\/societa\/2021\/08\/19\/artista-reggino-tatua-il-green-pass-il-modo-piu-veloce-per-averlo-sempre-con-se\/\">Il Reggino<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/fast.wistia.net\/embed\/iframe\/xo23fcyip6?videoFoam=true&amp;autoPlay=true\" title=\"Whats it like to be a startup founder in Barcelona? Video\" allowtransparency=\"true\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" class=\"wistia_embed\" name=\"wistia_embed\" allowfullscreen=\"\" msallowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the original story doesn\u2019t share the name of the brave pioneer who got the tattoo (which is why I\u2019ve affectionately named him \u2018Italian dude\u2019) but you can see his genius idea actually works in Pellerone\u2019s video:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fgabrielepellerone%2Fvideos%2F328973165686518%2F&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=267&amp;t=0\" width=\"267\" height=\"591\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I also tried it on my phone and can confirm it does work. However, the tattoo isn\u2019t the <em>actual<\/em> QR code for the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/live-work-travel-eu\/coronavirus-response\/safe-covid-19-vaccines-europeans\/eu-digital-covid-certificate_en\">EU-wide covid certificate<\/a> \u2014 AKA \u2018green pass\u2019 \u2014 which shows your vaccination status or negative test results.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, it <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be merely a QR code linking to the official one, which is way bigger and harder to render as a tattoo. A lot of tattoos get outdated anyway, so why not be a maverick and start something new?<\/p>\n<p>Just imagine. Rather than going for the gazillionth <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.co.uk\/tattoomaze\/feather-into-birds-tattoo\/\">feather turning into birds<\/a> or another <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ourmindfullife.com\/quote-tattoos\/\">random \u2018profound\u2019 quote<\/a>, people could start slapping permanent QR codes on their bodies, linking to their favorite <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nlYlNF30bVg\">YouTube videos<\/a> or websites.<\/p>\n<p>Who knows, maybe QR codes can even replace Chinese characters as the quintessential tattoo that you don\u2019t understand \u2014 linking to the Wikipedia page on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Discus_throw\">discus throw<\/a> instead of your beloved <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.neopets.com\/\">Neopets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Long story short, \u2018Italian dude\u2019 is creating a brave new world of interactive tattoos, and I want to live in it.
