At the time of writing, the privacy-centric cryptocurrency is <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/monero\">trading<\/a> at $318, down around 2.4% over the past 24 hours, according to crypto tracking website CoinGecko. Following a solid bullish trend on major crypto markets, XMR is up over 50% over the past 30 days.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-08\/919817b1-cbe9-482b-8a67-daad400714a4.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Source: CoinGecko<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Monero Project contributor ErCiccione said that the newly introduced swap deployment is a brand new <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> that allows users to exchange BTC and XMR without relying on a trusted third party like a cryptocurrency exchange. \u201cThese swaps are called \u2018atomic\u2019 because they only have two possible outcomes: either the trade is successfully completed and each trader receives the other one&#8217;s funds, or nothing h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ens and both traders keep the funds they started with,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Newly found Monero bug may impact transaction privacy, developers warn<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the announcement, users can now proceed with testing out XMR Atomic Swaps by downloading the COMET-designed software. ErCiccione cautioned users that the new swaps \u201cmight have unexpected bugs,\u201d and recommended testing with small amounts.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2014, XMR is a major privacy-focused cryptocurrency designed to support private and untrackable transactions.
