Country crooner\u00a0Reba McEntire\u00a0<\/strong>was all but certain she\u2019d come down with COVID-19 recently after displaying all the symptoms. The 66-year-old wasn\u2019t super excited about it, either, considering she had already been vaccinated earlier in the pandemic.<\/p>\n

After coming down with a cold-like feeling, Reba and her partner Rex Linn<\/strong> both went and took COVID tests, just to be sure. And they were shocked when the tests came back positive \u2014 making the reveal public on TikTok<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Thankfully, a nurse looking deeper into the situation tested Reba\u2019s antibodies specifically, and discovered that the vaccine\u2019s presence had triggered a false positive! There\u2019s not a\u00a0great<\/em> end to the story here, considering Reba was still sick \u2014 with a\u00a0respiratory synctial virus <\/strong>(RSV), instead of coronavirus \u2014 but at least it\u2019s proof her vaccine is working!<\/p>\n

The former TV sitcom star explained the whole situation while app<\/a>earing on\u00a0Talk Show Live<\/em> with host\u00a0Nancy O\u2019Dell<\/strong>. Reba said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI did think that I had COVID but when I got tested my antibodies \u2014 it came up that I had not had COVID.\u00a0I had my antibodies from my vaccine. So I had all the symptoms, so I was kinda probably \u2014 I did get tested, you know the test that I had and it said that I had it but then the nurse that came and tested me for my antibodies said that I probably had the RSV virus.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Whew!<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, back when she thought she had COVID for a time before being re-diagnosed, the multi-talented redhead spoke openly about what a tough time it\u2019s been for all of society in a poignant TikTok video:<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to say one thing: this has been a hard year and it\u2019s getting rougher again. You guys, please stay safe. Wear your mask. Do what you have to do. Stay home. It\u2019s not fun to get this. I did get it. Rex and I got it and it\u2019s not fun. You don\u2019t feel good. We were both vaccinated and we still got it, so stay safe, stay home, and be protected the best you can.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Clearly, all that still holds true today \u2014 especially the part about staying safe, staying home, and wearing a mask!<\/p>\n

And while Reba and her partner can breathe a bit easier now knowing they did\u00a0not<\/em> get COVID-19, looking forward it\u2019s still a s**t show out there when it comes to making big decisions on concert tours, meet-and-greets, and everything else that usually makes this country music superstar\u2019s world go \u2019round.<\/p>\n

Reba spilled to O\u2019Dell:<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no idea what plans for next year are. You know, the COVID thing has really hit hard and spikes are going everywhere right now \u2026 and it\u2019s all over the country \u2014 this new variant.\u00a0We have plans right now to go back on tour in January, February and March. We have plans with being with Brooks & Dunn<\/strong> at Caesars Palace<\/strong> in December \u2014 the first two weeks, almost three weeks of December \u2014 but we don\u2019t know if that\u2019s going to go.\u00a0We\u2019re just gonna move forward, keep praying that everybody stays safe and healthy, and wear your mask and just be safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Wow.<\/p>\n

Clearly, times remain tough for everybody \u2014 with these COVID-19 variants out there wreaking havoc on different places, sometimes it seems like there\u2019s no good decision to be made on the future, and we\u2019ll all be stuck indoors for another year.<\/p>\n

All we can do is follow Reba\u2019s lead: be safe, get vaccinated, and keep wearing our masks!<\/p>\n
