\n Joe Biden and Barack Obama joined forces for a new campaign video Thursday where they pontificated about their achievements in the White House and criticized President Trump\u2019s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

The 15-minute gab-fest, dubbed \u201cA Social<\/a>ly Distanced Conversation,\u201d was shot in Obama\u2019s DC office and shows the men sitting six feet apart on leather recliners as they reminisced about the Affordable Care Act, the pandemic office they created in the White House, and other laws they passed during their eight years in power.<\/p>\n

The campaign clip was part interview, part endorsement as the former president probed his loyal veep, who is leading in the polls, on how he would fix a cratering US economy while repeatedly praising Biden as Trump\u2019s natural replacement to handle the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have confidence that you\u2019re going to actually listen to the experts and you\u2019re going to pay attention to the science<\/a> and you\u2019re not going to quit on trying to actually bend down the curve of disease and transmission rates,\u201d Obama said.<\/p>\n

Referring to him only as \u201cthis guy,\u201d Biden, 77, repeatedly needled President Trump for trying to overturn Obamacare in the Supreme Court and accused him of lacking empathy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis guy\u2019s in court in the middle of a pandemic trying to take away protection from 100 million people that have preexisting conditions. I don\u2019t think he has any sense of empathy, I don\u2019t think he has any sense at all,\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n

Trump blasted the video in a tweet shortly after it went online, saying the pair did a \u201cterrible job\u201d and noted the fact that Obama gave his veep a very belated endorsement in April.<\/p>\n

\u201cObama, who wouldn\u2019t even endorse Biden until everyone else was out of the primaries (and even then waited a long time!), is now making a commercial of support. Remember, I wouldn\u2019t even be here if it weren\u2019t for them. I wouldn\u2019t be President. They did a terrible job!\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Obama and Biden spoke about about a host of issues including the Black Lives Matter movement, the US economy and of course, the Affordable Care Act.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t be prouder of what we got done. 20 million have health insurance that didn\u2019t have it because of what we did,\u201d Obama, 58, said.<\/p>\n

The highly-produced video is the second time the men have collaborated together publicly since Obama\u2019s April endorsement and more cameos are expected of the former president, lending significant firepower to the humdrum Biden campaign.<\/p>\n

He will also host a virtual fundraiser for Biden next week where tickets are expected to fetch up to $250,000, while former first lady Michelle Obama will also hit the trail for him.<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s campaign has milked the video for all its worth, teasing a promo clip on Wednesday and labeling it on Twitter as \u201c44 46,\u201d implying that Biden will become the 46th president of the United States.<\/p>\n

As the video drew to a close, Biden hit the sitting president for his leadership style, again referring to him only as \u201cthis guy\u201d while accusing him of setting a bad example for young Americans.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis guy has generated a sense out there that people are waking up to that he ran by deliberately dividing people from the moment he came down that escalator and I think people are now going \u2018I don\u2019t want my kid to grow up that way.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The clip ended with Obama giving another weighty endorsement to Biden as images flashed on the screen of Biden hugging children and glad-handing voters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thing I\u2019ve got confidence in, Joe, is your heart and your character and the fact that you are going to be able to reassemble the kind of government that cares about people and that brings people together,\u201d \u201c44\u201d said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd for all the specific policies that we\u2019re going to need, more than anything it\u2019s just that basic decency and understanding of what\u2019s best in America that I think people are going to be hungry for,\u201d he continued.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
