On Wednesday (August 25), TDE announced their newest signee, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ray.vaughn\/\">Ray Vaughn<\/a>, via a press release.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to TDE, the Long Beach, California, native has been a part of the family since 2020, but took his time, mastering his craft and patiently waiting for his turn to debut. It proved to be a smart move to have Vaughn wait because TDE said he\u2019s \u201cready to embrace the challenge of running with the Top Dawgs.\u201d TDE also unleashed Vaughn\u2019s debut EP,\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Peer Pressure<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cWELCOME @rayvaughn to the TDE family,\u201d TDE tweeted. \u201c#PeerPressureEP available now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WELCOME <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rayvaughn?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@rayvaughn<\/a> to the TDE family. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/PeerPressureEP?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#PeerPressureEP<\/a> available now. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EUnzqZkvPB\">pic.twitter.com\/EUnzqZkvPB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 TOP DAWG ENT (@TopDawgEnt) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TopDawgEnt\/status\/1430563779809579010?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 25, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The three-track project is an \u201cappetizer\u201d for Ray Vaughn\u2019s proper TDE debut. There\u2019s no word on when that project will come, but fans will have a solid trio of songs to hold them over. Vaughn explained the meaning behind his new EP in the press release.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cI\u2019d love to tell you how I created the project, but to tell you the truth, to revisit the place of brutal honesty these songs came from is a chaotic process,\u201d he said. \u201cDon\u2019t take me too seriously, honestly, just learn to have fun.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">TDE\u2019s announcement comes days after Kendrick Lamar issued a statement of his own regarding his time with the label. K Dot\u2019s next album will be his last with TDE as he enters a new chapter in his storied career.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cAs I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,\u201d Lamar wrote in a rare letter. \u201cThe Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators.
