Fitbit just announced the Charge 5<\/a>, a fitness band with a full-color display and several features that were once exclusive to Fitbit\u2019s smartwatches. And just as leaks suggested, Fitbit is using the Charge 5 fitness band to debut Daily Readiness<\/a>, a new Premium feature that suggests workouts based on your activity, sleep, and heart rate.<\/p>\n

Two of the Charge 5\u2019s most notable features are its new ECG and EDA sensors, which monitor heart health and stress. These two sensors are carryovers from the Fitbit Sense, and like that smartwatch, the new Charge 5 fitness band can guide you through stress-reduction sessions if you find yourself getting too heated.<\/p>\n

A new always-on color AMOLED display with touch and gesture controls replaces the boring old screen we saw in the Charge 4 fitness tracker. Fitbit also managed to get the new Charge 5 about 10% thinner than its predecessor, which is surprising given that it still has a 7-day battery life.<\/p>\n

All Fitbit Charge 5 fitness bands come with 6 months of Fitbit Premium, a service that includes guided workouts and other cool perks. Of course, Fitbit is only handing out Premium subscript<\/a>ions to help advertise its new Daily Readiness feature. Premium members get a Daily Readiness Score to see an overview of their health and activity, plus workout recommendations. Daily Readiness may suggest a short yoga session if you\u2019ve had a few days of poor sleep, for example.<\/p>\n

And of course, the Charge 5 contains all the features from its predecessor, the Charge 4 fitness band. That means GPS, blood oxygen sensors, activity tracking, sleep tracking, and Spotify control.<\/p>\n

You can now pre-order the Charge 5<\/a> fitness band with 6 months of Fitbit premium for $180. The fitness band comes in white, black, and blue colorways and ships in late September.<\/p>\n
