(TSMC) plans to increase prices.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Taiwan_Semiconductor_Manufacturing_Co_Increasing_Prices\"><\/span>Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Increasing Prices<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>TSMC, the largest chip maker in the world, plans to increase its price by as much as 20% later this year or by early next year, according to a report from <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/worlds-largest-chip-maker-to-raise-prices-threatening-costlier-electronics-11629978308\">WSJ<\/a>. Thankfully, most advanced chips made with\u00a0processes under 16 nanometers will only go up by 10%, while older chips will see a more considerable 20% increase.<\/p>\n<p>Many companies, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le, AMD, and Qualcomm, rely on\u00a0TSMC. If these companies see a price increase of 20%, we can expect at least some of that increase to be passed to consumers at some point, making our devices even more expensive.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s 7-nanometer chip manufacturing process is responsible for the AMD Ryzen 5000 processors used in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Series<\/a> X <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> consoles.\u00a0That could leave Microsoft and Sony forced to raise the prices of their consoles or start making them at a loss.<\/p>\n<p>Apple is another company that relies on\u00a0TSMC. With rumors of the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewgeek.com\/75075\/iphone-13-may-upgrade-to-a-buttery-smooth-120hz-display-shrink-the-notch\/\">iPhone 13<\/a> already circulating, it\u2019ll be interesting to see if Apple can keep the price around the same as current models or if there will be a jump there as well.<\/p>\n<p>Car prices could even be affected by this increase, as they rely on older chips made with manufacturing processes that\u2019ll see a 20% price increase.
