This is a generous gift that comes at a time when this virus is experiencing a resurgence in our area,\u201d college president Dr. Ferlin Clark said. \u201cWe are dedicated to keeping our students safe and healthy, and this will have a lasting impact on our efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2021\/us\/oklahoma-covid-cases.html\"><em>The New York Times<\/em><\/a>, Oklahoma recorded over 2,500 coronavirus cases on Wednesday (August 25), which matches November levels of positive tests in the state. 136 deaths were also recorded for the day.<\/p>\n<p>With Delta variant cases creating hotspots across the country, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla is concerned a vaccine-resistant variant could soon emerge. Over 62 percent of adult Americans are fully vaccinated as of Tuesday (August 24).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery time that the variant appears in the world, our scientists are getting their hands around it,\u201d Bourla told<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/pfizer-bourla-covid-19-vaccine-resistant-variant-likely-emerge\"> <em>Fox News<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThey are researching to see if this variant can escape the protection of our vaccine.
