Tampa social<\/a>ite and diplomatic adviser Jill Kelley \u2014 a key figure in the Gen. David Petraeus scandal \u2014 has been working to get Afghan Christians and LGBTQ campaigners out of Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

Kelley, who previously worked as an honorary ambassador to US Central Command, says she has been working around the clock from her home to help vulnerable people escape Afghanistan via Kabul Airport.<\/p>\n

She told The Post, \u201cAs of last Sunday, when I started the secret rescue operations, we had 330 Christians left that are still alive in the country. Today we can only count 180. One family I helped get to the airport watched hundreds of people trampled and killed in front of them. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are also helping the LGBTQ community, in particular one physician, whose life is over if our politicians don\u2019t help me get him evacuated ASAP. He left the airport after the suicide bombing and is hiding in the trunk of a car. He wants us to raise our voices to the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am doing everything I can to get them to the airport and through the gates. But most can\u2019t even get to the airport past the Taliban checkpoints. This is the greatest human rights catastrophe in modern history.\u201d<\/p>\n
