{"id":331151,"date":"2021-08-26T19:36:37","date_gmt":"2021-08-26T16:36:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/man-sues-over-bitcoin-stash-stolen-in-2018-and-now-worth-1m\/"},"modified":"2021-08-26T19:36:37","modified_gmt":"2021-08-26T16:36:37","slug":"man-sues-over-bitcoin-stash-stolen-in-2018-and-now-worth-1m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/man-sues-over-bitcoin-stash-stolen-in-2018-and-now-worth-1m\/","title":{"rendered":"#Man sues over bitcoin stash stolen in 2018 and now worth $1M"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Man sues over bitcoin stash stolen in 2018 and now worth $1M<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>A Colorado man who was robbed of 16.4 bitcoins in 2018 \u2014 when it was worth up to $220,000 \u2014 has now sued the alleged UK-based thieves as well as their parents. <\/p>\n<p>Despite the alleged robbery h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening in January of 2018, Andrew Schober did not file the suit until May of this year, saying that he\u2019s spent $10,000 trying to track down the looted crypto and that it\u2019s caused \u201cgrave financial and personal harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schober\u2019s suit, filed in Colorado District Court, says the looted bitcoin accounted for about 95 percent of his net wealth at the time it was stolen and that he planned to use the proceeds to finance a home and support his family. He might have thought he was playing a harmless joke, but it has had serious consequences for my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Schober said he never heard back from the families, so he took legal action this year, just as the price of bitcoin soared to new highs and his lost fortune became even greater. <\/p>\n<p>In court documents filed earlier this month, the defendants asked for the case to be dismissed on the grounds that the time for Schober to take legal action has run out. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause Plaintiff did not file his lawsuit until May 21, 2021, three years and five months after his injury, his claims should be dismissed,\u201d an Aug. 6 filing reads.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
