{"id":331701,"date":"2021-08-28T20:20:59","date_gmt":"2021-08-28T17:20:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/joe-exotics-former-zoo-sold-animals-banned-for-100-years\/"},"modified":"2021-08-28T20:20:59","modified_gmt":"2021-08-28T17:20:59","slug":"joe-exotics-former-zoo-sold-animals-banned-for-100-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/joe-exotics-former-zoo-sold-animals-banned-for-100-years\/","title":{"rendered":"#Joe Exotic&#8217;s former zoo sold, animals banned for 100 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Joe Exotic&#8217;s former zoo sold, animals banned for 100 years<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Joe Exotic\u2019s former animal playground will be a zoo no more.<\/p>\n<p>His longtime enemy, Carole Baskin of Big Cat Rescue, has sold the Oklahoma property and one of the provisions is that the land can\u2019t be used as a zoo for 100 years, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2021\/08\/28\/carole-baskin-sells-joe-exotics-old-zoo-property-it-cant-be-a-zoo-ever-again\/\">TMZ reported Saturday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Big Cat Rescue was awarded control over the animal park in Wynnewood by a judge in 2020, part of the settlement in her long-standing trademark lawsuit against the flamboyant former zookeeper, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit was filed in 2011, long before \u201cTiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness\u201d became the No. 1 show on Netflix and propelled both Maldonado-Passage and Baskin to freakish stardom.<\/p>\n<p>Baskin registered the trademark for Big Cat Rescue in 2005. Maldonado-Passage used the similar name Big Cat Rescue Entertainment and allegedly boasted on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> that he purposely used the name to \u201cruin\u201d Baskin and her non-profit company. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/carole-baskin-1-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Carole Baskin was awarded control over Exotic's animal park by a judge in 2020.\" class=\"wp-image-19279232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/carole-baskin-1-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/carole-baskin-1-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/08\/carole-baskin-1-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Carole Baskin was awarded control over Exotic\u2019s animal park by a judge in 2020.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Tasos Katopodis\/Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Maldonado-Passage\u2019s Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park was purchased for $140,000 in June by Francisco and Nelly Vazquez, according to the TMZ report. <\/p>\n<p>The last remaining animals at the zoo, which once housed as many as 1,400 big cats, were turned over to the Justice Department earlier this month. <\/p>\n<p>Last year, Maldonado-Passage was sentenced 22 years in a federal lockup following his conviction on charges he hatched a murder-for-hire plot to rub out Baskin. Prosecutors said he paid a man $3,000 in 2017 to go to Florida to kill Baskin \u2014 who has been accused of murdering her ex-husband Don Lewis in 1997. She has denied the claims.<\/p>\n<p>Maldonado-Passage was also convicted of multiple wildlife violations related to killing five tigers, selling tiger cubs and falsifying records.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently battling cancer at a medical prison in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, a federal <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eals court ruled that the foul-mouthed mullet lover should get a shorter prison sentence, ruling that a trial court wrongly treated those two convictions separately in calculating his punishment.<\/p>\n<p>Maldonado-Passage and his supporters previously begged former President Trump to pardon him before leaving office \u2014 even going so far as hiring a limousine and a hair and wardrobe team on Jan. 20.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently battling cancer behind bars.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
