Kelly Allegations\" class=\"large\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"news-caption\">\n<span>Paras Griffin\/Getty Images Antonio Perez via Getty Images<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"body-copy  js-entry-text\" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\nThe addition of the rest Aaliyah\u2019s catalog to streaming services beginning with her 1996 album <em>One In A Million<\/em> was met with joy by fans and disgust by select members of her estate. <\/p>\n<p>Aaliyah\u2019s uncle, Barry Hankerson has been vocal about the return of the full Blackground Records catalog along with Aaliyah\u2019s and in a recent interview with <em>The Rickey Smiley Morning Show<\/em>, he discussed not only the catalog but his feelings towards R. Kelly, who he introduced to his teenage niece in the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be very honest with you, of course, I was upset. I had to really, really consider what my actions would be,\u201d he told the morning show around the 8-minute mark. \u201cAnd really I found out, I wasn\u2019t a hardcore criminal. I couldn\u2019t kill nobody. So, I took it, I\u2019m a Muslim, and I went to Minster Farrakhan and we just prayed about it, resolved ourselves to let God handle him. I think that\u2019s what\u2019s going on. In 1994, a 27-year-old Kelly married a then 15-year-old Aaliyah illegally, obtaining a forged marriage license through one of Kelly\u2019s aides. According to court documents, Kelly allegedly married the young singer because he believed she was pregnant with his child.<\/p>\n<p>Hankerson has no interest in following Kelly\u2019s trial, saying the singer \u201cimpacted\u201d his entire family.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>Chart Data<\/em>, Aaliyah\u2019s <em>One In A Million<\/em> will land on at No. 10 on the <em>Billboard<\/em> 200 chart, the album\u2019s highest-charting position since it was released 25 years ago.
