Samsung Galaxy smartwatches, unsurprisingly, come pre-loaded with several Samsung app<\/a>s. One such example is Samsung Pay. Even if you don\u2019t use Samsung Pay on your phone, it\u2019s a great app to set up on your watch to make mobile payments. We\u2019ll show you how.<\/p>\n

Samsung Pay is a mobile payments service that works in the same way as Google Pay<\/a> and Apple Pay. Once you\u2019ve inputted a payment method, you can simply hold your smartwatch to a contactless reader to make a payment.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> Samsung smartwatches work with iPhones, but Samsung Pay does not.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

First, open the Galaxy Wearable app<\/a> on your Samsung Galaxy or\u00a0Android phone. From the \u201cHome\u201d tab, scroll down, and select \u201cSamsung Pay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Samsung will check to see if you have a compatible Galaxy smartwatch. If you do, there may be a Samsung Pay update available. Tap \u201cUpdate\u201d if that\u2019s the case.<\/p>\n

You can track the update progress in the notifications section. Once finished, tap \u201cSamsung Pay\u201d again from the \u201cHome\u201d tab.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re opening the Samsung Pay settings for the first time, you\u2019ll see a short introductory slideshow. Tap \u201cNext\u201d to proceed.<\/p>\n

The next screen will explain that you can use Samsung Pay anywhere you see the tap-to-pay symbol. To get started, you must \u201cSign In\u201d first.<\/p>\n

Sign in with the Samsung account associated with your Galaxy smartwatch.<\/p>\n

Next, we can add a credit or debit card to use with Samsung Pay. This is the card that will be charged when you hold your watch to a contactless reader. Tap the \u201cAdd Card\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Select \u201cAdd Credit or Debit Card\u201d on the next screen.<\/p>\n

Allow the app to take pictures and record videos so it can scan your card and enter the details. The permission dialog may look different depending on your Android version.<\/p>\n

Position your card inside the viewing angle and wait for it to detect the details, or tap \u201cEnter Card Manually.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve entered all of your card information, Samsung Pay will validate the card.<\/p>\n

Next, you\u2019ll be shown the Terms of Service. Tap \u201cAgree to All\u201d once you\u2019re ready.<\/p>\n

You may get an additional verification screen next. Select one of the verification methods and enter the security info to proceed.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s it! Tap \u201cDone\u201d on the next screen to finish.<\/p>\n

To use Samsung Pay on your smartwatch, press and hold the Back key. After several seconds, you will be asked to add a security PIN to protect Samsung Pay. You only have to enter the PIN once while wearing the watch. If it detects you have taken the watch off, the PIN will be required again.<\/p>\n

Once you see your card on the screen, hold the watch near the reader. You\u2019ll feel it vibrate when the payment is successful.<\/p>\n
