\n Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James isn\u2019t so fond of the Washington Football Team\u2019s new name.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust waking back up from my pregame<\/a> nap to see about The Washington Football Team??? (crying laughing emojis),\u201d James said Thursday on Twitter<\/a>. \u201cIs that real?? No Way! Oh man they had a thorough intense long board meeting about that one huh.\u201d<\/p>\n

His mockery came soon after the NFL\u2019s Washington franchise changed their name to The Washington Football Team, reportedly as a placeholder for the duration of the 2020 season.<\/p>\n

Even Nets forward and D.C. native Kevin Durant wasn\u2019t impressed with the name, responding to James\u2019 tweet with a GIF of an eye roll. James then continued his playful trolling by responding to KD, \u201cYo I was going to check on you but figured you didn\u2019t wanna be bothered at the moment,\u201d ending the tweet with a flurry of crying-laughing emojis.<\/p>\n

Being a Dallas Cowboys fan, James has a reputation of bashing the Washington franchise. When the Cleveland Cavaliers were in town to take on the Washington Wizards in 2016, James was asked about Washington hosting a playoff matchup with the Green Bay Packers.<\/p>\n

\u201cGo Aaron Rodgers,\u201d James responded.<\/p>\n

The Lakers are scheduled to play their first scrimmage in the Orlando bubble Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks.<\/p>\n

The four-time MVP further emphasized that regardless of Washington\u2019s temporary name, he is getting ready for their matchup.<\/p>\n
