On Sunday, the <em>Charmed<\/em> alum lashed out at the talk show host, claiming there\u2019s an \u201cugly truth\u201d behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> mogul. Along with sharing a photo of Oprah kissing convicted rapist <strong>Harvey Weinstein<\/strong>\u00a0on the cheek at the 2014 <strong>Critics\u2019 Choice Movie Awards<\/strong>, the 47-year-old wrote on <strong>Twitter<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI am glad more are seeing the ugly truth of @Oprah. I wish she were real, but she isn\u2019t. From being pals with Weinstein to abandoning &amp; destroying<strong> Russell <\/strong>[<strong>Simmons<\/strong>]\u00a0[sic] victims, she is about supporting a sick power structure for personal gain, she is as fake as they come. #lizard.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Damn, she\u2019s not holding back!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Wait, Was The Queen TRICKED Into Signing Off On Prince Harry\u2019s Show With Oprah?!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As Perezcious readers will recall, Rose alleged Weinstein had sexually assaulted her back in late 1997\/early 1998 while she was working on the sci-fi film\u00a0<em>Phantoms. <\/em>She was one of the first women to come forward against the movie mogul, as well.<\/p>\n<p>The harsh comment comes after Oprah went viral over the weekend for a former interview with <strong>Dolly Parton<\/strong>, in which many speculated the host meant to embarrass the country star by asking probing questions about her plastic surgery and mental health. In the first clip, Oprah acknowledged:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou\u2019ve been open that you\u2019ve had some work done, some tucks and pulls and sucks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>To which the <em>9 to 5<\/em> vocalist laughed:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYes, I have and I\u2019ll have some more when I need them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Frowning, the 67-year-old transitioned to discussing mental health, sharing that the performer had experienced a \u201chuge depression\u201d when she turned 40. Again, the<em> Steel Magnolias<\/em> lead held nothing back, telling the audience:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThat wasn\u2019t cause I turned 40, it was cause I was fat and 40. I really had a lot of problems at that time, a lot of female problems. Just hormones\u2026 But I\u2019m okay now, it was one of the best things to ever h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en to me because it made me take inventory.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Watch the full clips (below).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">i went searching for the rest. why did oprah drag dollys mental health into it ???? <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Z9XzbM8iwt\">pic.twitter.com\/Z9XzbM8iwt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Liz (@datbitchliz) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/datbitchliz\/status\/1431679606394966016?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 28, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>While some social media users argued that the topics were \u201cgroundbreaking\u201d at the time, most were reminded of the <em>A<\/em> <em>Wrinkle In Time<\/em> actress\u2019s former relationships with Weinstein and Simmons, both of whom have been accused of sexual misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>From 2017 to 2019, the co-founder of the hip-hop label<strong> Def Jam Recordings<\/strong> was accused of rape and sexual misconduct by at least 15 women. This included <strong>Jennifer Jarosik<\/strong>, who accused the music producer of rape in January 2018 but eventually filed a joint stipulation of dismissal with prejudice in April. At the time of her filing, Simmons denied the allegation, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis allegation is absolutely untrue. I look forward to having my day in court\u2014where, unlike the court of public opinion, I will have the ability to make use of fair processes that ensure that justice will be done and that the full truth will be known.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A Jane Doe also accused the entrepreneur of rape in a different lawsuit, but a judge dismissed it because of the statute of limitations. Again, Simmons told <em>E! <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a><\/em> that the allegations were \u201chorrific\u201d but that he had not committed the crime:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI vehemently deny all these allegations. These horrific accusations have shocked me to my core and all of my relations have been consensual.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So, how\u2019s Oprah involved in all of this??<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Glenn Close Reflects On The \u2018Trauma\u2019 &amp; \u2018Emotional Devastation\u2019 Of Growing Up In A Cult<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She was most recently executive producing a documentary highlighting his victims\u2019 stories that was set to premiere on <strong>Apple TV<\/strong>. But because of creative differences, she exited her role on the untitled pic by<strong> Kirby Dick<\/strong> and <strong>Amy Ziering <\/strong>and got it pulled from the streaming platform, according to <em>The New York Times<\/em>.\u00a0In January 2020, she announced:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThere is more work to be done on the film to illuminate the full scope of what the victims endured, and it has become clear that the filmmakers and I are not aligned in that creative vision.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She claimed to still be passionate about supporting the victims, adding:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI have great respect for their mission but given the filmmakers\u2019 desire to premiere the film at the Sundance Film Festival before I believe it is complete, I feel it\u2019s best to step aside. I will be working with <strong>Time\u2019s Up<\/strong> to support the victims and those impacted by abuse and sexual harassment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But, despite her reasoning, Rose and others saw that business move as \u201cabandoning &amp; destroying Russell Simmon\u2019s victims.\u201d Things remain icky when looking into her past with the disgraced film producer, who has been found guilty of rape in the third degree and criminal sexual act in the first degree. Weinstein, whose many victims inspired the #MeToo movement and Time\u2019s Up campaign, is currently facing additional charges in a Los Angeles court, for which he has pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>Harvey and Oprah go way back. Like many at the time, she claimed she \u201cdidn\u2019t know\u201d about his gross behavior toward women, which included McGowan (so you can see why she has such a hatred for any friend of his). That said, the podcast host did know Harvey\u2019s aggressive side, admitting in 2018:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI was in Chicago, in my own little world, but what I knew about Harvey was that Harvey was a bully and that if Harvey\u2019s on the phone, you didn\u2019t want to take the call because you\u2019re going to get bullied in some way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Yeesh. That\u2019s perhaps not as bad as knowing about his sexual misconduct, but still not great. Obviously, these are tricky situations to look back on \u2014 after all, Harvey and Russell had strong ties in the entertainment industry. Oprah wasn\u2019t the only one willingly cozying up to the producer, but we know that doesn\u2019t justify either one of their actions, especially in the eyes of a victim.<\/p>\n<p>Thoughts, Perezcious readers?
