A significant hurdle in the lossless audio experience is Bluetooth, though. Even with the highest-quality files, Bluetooth will cause compression. Qualcomm is looking to change that with lossless Bluetooth audio.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Qualcomms_aptX_Bluetooth_Lossless_Audio_Technology\"><\/span>Qualcomm\u2019s\u00a0aptX Bluetooth Lossless Audio Technology<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Qualcomm held an event where it <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.qualcomm.com\/news\/releases\/2021\/09\/01\/qualcomm-adds-bluetooth-lossless-audio-technology-snapdragon-sound\">announced<\/a> that it\u2019s bringing lossless audio <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> to Bluetooth\u00a0as part of its Snapdragon Sound Technology. Typically, audiophiles are forced to use wired headphones and speakers to get the uncompressed audio they desire. However, that\u2019s about to change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <strong><em>What Is Bluetooth?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The company described the issue with Bluetooth in a release. It said, \u201cBluetooth acts as the \u2018last mile\u2019 of delivery, and it\u2019s this last step that can undercut the entire lossless and hi-res process.\u201d It also continued to say, \u201call Bluetooth connections to date employ lossy compression based on psychoacoustic masking techniques and while bit-rate efficient, more audio data is lost.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0Qualcomm\u2019s aptX technology is different because it is based on ADPCM (Advanced Pulse Code Modulation) techniques and is a non-destructive codec. That means it doesn\u2019t s<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> the quality from audio files in the same way traditional Bluetooth codecs would.<\/p>\n<p>According to the release, you can get CD-quality 16-bit 44.1kHz lossless audio quality over Bluetooth wireless technology. It\u2019s not the highest out there by any means (<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le Music Hi-Res supports\u00a024bit\u00a0196kHz audio, for example), but it\u2019s quite a bit better than the sound you\u2019ll get from traditional Bluetooth headsets.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there are limitations of the devices themselves, but this will at least make it, so Bluetooth isn\u2019t the main hurdle preventing higher-quality audio from reaching your ears.
