{"id":33401,"date":"2020-07-24T02:45:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-23T23:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/albany-lawmakers-return-to-pass-juneteenth-covid-19-liability-measures\/"},"modified":"2020-07-24T02:45:00","modified_gmt":"2020-07-23T23:45:00","slug":"albany-lawmakers-return-to-pass-juneteenth-covid-19-liability-measures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/albany-lawmakers-return-to-pass-juneteenth-covid-19-liability-measures\/","title":{"rendered":"#Albany lawmakers return to pass Juneteenth, COVID-19 liability measures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Albany lawmakers return to pass Juneteenth, COVID-19 liability measures<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-wrapper\" role=\"main\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>        July 23, 2020 <span>|<\/span> 7:45pm         <\/p>\n<div>\n                        ALBANY \u2014 State lawmakers made an unusual midsummer return to Albany this week, making up for time lost to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Politicians normally would have shut down the legislative session for the summer in early June \u2014 a calendar adjustment already shortened from previous years \u2014 to mark 57 days, encompassing 18 weeks in the capital city.<\/p>\n<p>But emergency action made in April\u2019s state budget granted remote voting and conferencing powers for pols, allowing them to function despite COVID-19\u2019s pressure on business as usual.<\/p>\n<p>Bills considered and expected to be passed by both the state Senate and Assembly include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A measure green-lighting \u201cautomatic voter registration\u201d directing state agencies like the Department of Motor Vehicles, state Board of Elections and Department of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Social<\/a> Services to automatically enroll residents who fill out any paperwork.
