After a couple of articles and hundreds of people discussing Sony\u2019s decision contrary to what they earlier promised, things have changed. It\u2019s now official that Horizon Forbidden West PS4 versions will have a free upgrade to the PS5 version.<\/p>\n<p>Updating the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.playstation.com\/2021\/09\/04\/pre-order-horizon-forbidden-west-now-collectors-and-digital-deluxe-editions-detailed\/\">existing blogpost<\/a>, Jim Ryan clarified the same and ensured fans that Sony will, indeed, keep the PS4 to PS5 free upgrade promise. He writes \u2013<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year we made a commitment to deliver free upgrades for our cross-gen launch titles, which included Horizon Forbidden West. While the pandemic\u2019s profound impact pushed Forbidden West out of the launch window we initially envisioned, we will stand by our offer: <strong>Players who purchase Horizon Forbidden West on PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There is, however, a catch for upcoming first-party titles. Moving forward, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s like the next God of War, Gran Turismo 7, and other upcoming first-party exclusives won\u2019t have the free upgrade. Players who purchase the PS4 version will have to pay $10 USD for a digital upgrade from the PS4 version to PS5. This <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lies to both disc and digital games. What does it mean? Well, if you buy a PS4 disc game, you can pay $10 USD to get it upgraded to a PS5 digital game by inserting the disc on your PS5 (Disc version). If you have a PS5 Digital, you won\u2019t have this option.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re all looking forward to the PlayStation Showcase this Thursday where Sony will show us the biggest games they\u2019ve been working on.
