Spotify tells HipHopDX<\/em> via email as of Saturday (September 4), Drake\u2019s Certified Lover Boy<\/em> is its platform\u2019s \u201cmost streamed album in a single day\u201d and celebrated the digital zenith with a glowing Billboard in New York City\u2019s famed Times Square.<\/p>\n

Apple Music also shared virtually the same information with HipHopDX<\/em> \u2014 reporting Drake\u2019s Certified Lover Boy<\/em> experienced \u201cthe biggest album debut ever,\u201d toppling his own previously set record with 2018\u2019s Scorpion<\/em>.<\/p>\n

October\u2019s Very Own has enjoyed a long-running fanbase with Apple Music, dating back to the anticipated release of 2016\u2019s Views<\/em> album and the simultaneous launch of OVO Radio.<\/p>\n

If the rivalry between Drake and Kanye West is to be believed, the latest string of announcements won\u2019t bode well for the peace. Certified Lover Boy<\/em>\u2019s newfound Apple Music dominance breaks Ye\u2019s short-lived Donda<\/em> record while the Spotify crown creates some distance between the two, as Kanye\u2019s 10th studio album recently became the 2nd biggest album on Spotify (now 3rd).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Drake\u2019s decision to leak Kanye\u2019s unreleased track \u201cThe Life Of The Party\u201d (featuring a ruminative Andr\u00e9 3000 verse and heartfelt DMX family moments) will likely keep the Instagram waters troubled for the time being.<\/p>\n
