While this sounds great on paper, you\u2019ll be surprised how uncomfortable it can be to sit in front of a TV that\u2019s simply too big for your watching environment.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, with some simple sums, you can figure out the ideal sized TV for your room and go from there.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Its_All_About_the_Field_of_View\"><\/span>It\u2019s All About the Field of View<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smpte.org\/\">The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers<\/a> (SMPTE) states that a field of vision of between 30\u00ba and 40\u00ba provides an optimal viewing experience for most content. The SMPTE describes itself as \u201ca global professional society of individuals and corporations collaborating for the advancement of all things technical in the motion picture, television and digital <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In cinemas, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thx.com\/\">THX<\/a> recommends a field of view of 36\u00ba for cinematic presentations. THX was established in part by George Lucas in 1983 to develop high fidelity standards for visual mediums including television and cinema.<\/p>\n<p>If in doubt, stick with 30\u00ba as this is widely accepted and quoted as being ideal for most people.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Calculating_Screen_Size_by_Viewing_Distance\"><\/span>Calculating Screen Size by Viewing Distance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The field of view you experience depends on how far you are sitting from the television. If you know how far you\u2019re going to be sitting, you can use this distance to calculate an \u201cideal\u201d screen size in inches. It isn\u2019t unusual to experience cyber sickness with larger displays, especially while playing games.
