{"id":336023,"date":"2021-09-07T20:10:03","date_gmt":"2021-09-07T17:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/tiger-king-star-and-zookeeper-erik-cowie-dead-at-53\/"},"modified":"2021-09-07T20:10:03","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T17:10:03","slug":"tiger-king-star-and-zookeeper-erik-cowie-dead-at-53","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/tiger-king-star-and-zookeeper-erik-cowie-dead-at-53\/","title":{"rendered":"#&#8217;Tiger King&#8217; star and zookeeper Erik Cowie dead at 53"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#&#8217;Tiger King&#8217; star and zookeeper Erik Cowie dead at 53<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Erik Cowie, the zookeeper of Netflix\u2019s zany animal documentary <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> \u201cTiger King,\u201d has died at 53.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities found Cowie\u2019s body Sept. 3 in New York City, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2021\/09\/07\/tiger-king-zookeeper-erik-cowie-dead-dies\/\">TMZ reported<\/a>, after a friend found him face down in a bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear why the animal trainer was in the Big <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le, as he lived in Oklahoma. No drugs were found at the scene and a toxicology report is expected. <\/p>\n<p>Cowie appeared on the reality show as one of now-imprisoned star Joe Exotic\u2019s longtime animal caretakers. After Joe, 58, was sent to jail, Cowie stayed and took care of his big cats at the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park.<\/p>\n<p>He later testified against the animal wrangler who allegedly abused and killed some of his animals.<\/p>\n<p>Cowie was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2021\/05\/17\/tiger-king-zookeeper-erik-cowie-dui-arrest-oklahoma-car-crash\/\">busted for a DUI<\/a> in Oklahoma earlier this year after being involved in a car accident. He pleaded guilty and was supposed to be sentenced shortly after the incident, but he failed to turn up for his hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Many fans have speculated in the past that Cowie\u2019s crooked teeth were due to meth use. He denied that rumor and once said his bad pearly whites were due to old age. Baskin sold the Oklahoma property and one of the provisions is that the land can\u2019t be used as a zoo for 100 years.
