You suggested rock climbing. I just risked my life to get here. And you\u2019re not treating?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, Dangler paid her own $40 cover fee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was a little annoyed, but not about having to pay for myself,\u201d she said. \u201cI just think it\u2019s polite for the person who initiated the date to pay for the date.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After their hour-long exploit, punctuated with empty chitchat about rocks, Dangler was left to plod back home amid the city\u2019s first-ever flash-flood emergency.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy the time we left the rock climbing gym, the rain was coming down in sheets, sideways,\u201d said Dangler. She says her date, who lived ten blocks away from the venue, didn\u2019t walk her to the train or offer to shelter her at his place while the storm continued to rage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Instead, he said, \u201c\u2018You were right, we should have rescheduled,\u2019\u201d before making the quick <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> back to his apartment, she recalled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe didn\u2019t even text me to make sure I\u2019d gotten home safely,\u201d Dangler said. \u201cI could have died.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, after 45 minutes of traipsing through the torrent \u2014 which included accidentally missing her stop on the C train, and having to walk 12 extra blocks\u00a0\u00a0\u2014 Dangler made it home.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\"\/>Even though she was soaking wet, she emerged from the incident unscathed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m totally done with hurricane dates,\u201d she said, laughing. \u201cBut this one experience won\u2019t discourage me.
