{"id":337742,"date":"2021-09-11T01:09:38","date_gmt":"2021-09-10T22:09:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/inside-the-9-11-terrorists-florida-luxury-hideaway\/"},"modified":"2021-09-11T01:09:38","modified_gmt":"2021-09-10T22:09:38","slug":"inside-the-9-11-terrorists-florida-luxury-hideaway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/inside-the-9-11-terrorists-florida-luxury-hideaway\/","title":{"rendered":"#Inside the 9\/11 terrorists&#8217; Florida luxury hideaway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Inside the 9\/11 terrorists&#8217; Florida luxury hideaway<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>A well-connected Saudi family hosted frequent visits from 9\/11 terrorists at their Sarasota, Fla., home while they were in the area flight training, according to documents <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/file-repository\/final-9-11-review-commission-report-unclassified.pdf\/view\">released by the FBI<\/a> in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>And while they were in training for the devastating attack that took the lives of nearly 3,000 innocent people 20 years ago, they were not roughing it in squalor.<\/p>\n<p>Located in the exclusive community of Prestancia, where Michael Jordan once rented a home, the residence was owned by Esam Ghazzawi \u2014 a prominent Saudi interior designer, businessman and adviser with long ties to the Saudi royal family.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The daughter of Ghazzawi, Anoud al-Hijji and her husband, Abudlazziz al-Hijji, lived there with their\u00a0two young children.<\/p>\n<p>The tropical abode \u2014 and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sarasotamagazine.com\/news-and-profiles\/911-hijacker-home-sarasota\">former high-jacker hangout<\/a> \u2014 is quiet with four bedrooms and three bathrooms spread out on a spacious 3,750-square-foot property. It\u2019s located in a gated golf course community, which <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.prestancia.org\/testimonials.html\">residents tout for its top-notch \u201csecurity.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Despite denying any involvement with the terrorists, the al-Hijjis abruptly fled their Sarasota home in a rush two weeks before the Sept. 11 attacks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"169\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/alhijji.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=169\" alt=\"Abdulaziz al-Hijji&#10;\" class=\"wp-image-19416212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/alhijji.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 169w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/alhijji.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=85 84w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 169px) 100vw, 169px\"\/><figcaption>Abdulaziz al-Hijji<br \/>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThey left behind valuable items, clothing, jewelry and food in a manner that indicated they fled unexpectedly without prior preparation or knowledge,\u201d one FBI analyst\u00a0wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A 2002 memo from an FBI field agent with the Southwest Florida Domestic Security Task Force noted \u201cmany connections\u201d between the al-Hijji\u2019s and three of the pilot hijackers \u2014 Mohamed Atta, Ziad Jarrah and Marwan Alshehhi, according to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldtribune.com\/news\/20191209\/saudi-murders-revive-911rsquos-unanswered-questions\">Herald-Tribune<\/a>. The three learned to fly planes at Huffman Aviation in the nearby\u00a0city of Venice. Those records were only obtained after a Freedom of Information Act request was submitted by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.floridabulldog.org\/\">Florida Bulldog<\/a>, an online investigative journalism watchdog, years after the official books were closed and with the help of Florida Sen. It was last sold for $450,000 in 2015.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ghazzawi initially purchased the Florida home in 1995.<\/p>\n<p>While his daughter was living in the home with her husband, Anoud wore a 10-carat heart-shaped diamond ring and Westernized clothes, reports <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sarasotamagazine.com\/news-and-profiles\/2021\/09\/classified-911-investigation-sarasota\">Sarasota Magazine<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>She and her husband, Abdulazzi, owned three cars: a Range Rover, a Lexus and a brand-new PT Cruiser. Neighbors revealed they didn\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a>ize much with them and the family didn\u2019t belong to the country club at Prestancia.
