{"id":337918,"date":"2021-09-10T19:19:13","date_gmt":"2021-09-10T16:19:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/twitter-to-let-bot-accounts-self-identify-as-good-robots\/"},"modified":"2021-09-10T19:19:13","modified_gmt":"2021-09-10T16:19:13","slug":"twitter-to-let-bot-accounts-self-identify-as-good-robots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/twitter-to-let-bot-accounts-self-identify-as-good-robots\/","title":{"rendered":"#Twitter to let bot accounts self-identify as \u2018good\u2019 robots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> to let bot accounts self-identify as \u2018good\u2019 robots<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Are you a good bot or a bad bot?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a small step against disinformation, Twitter introduced a new feature on Thursday to let \u201cgood\u201d bot accounts self-identify as such and receive a profile label to alert others to their kind robot status.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is meant to help distinguish AI-driven accounts which provide useful information from \u201cspammy ones\u201d which spread inaccurate information.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExamples of automated accounts you might see on Twitter include bots that help you find vaccine <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointments and disaster early warning systems,\u201d Twitter wrote in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/help.twitter.com\/en\/using-twitter\/automated-account-labels\">a press release-like FAQ<\/a> about the new bot labels. \u201cWhen these accounts let you know they\u2019re automated, you get a better understanding of their purpose when you\u2019re interacting with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The label simply consists of the word \u201cautomated account\u201d appear on approved bot accounts\u2019 profiles beneath their profile name and handle.<\/p>\n<p>The feature is not yet widely available and currently, only a \u201climited number of people are participating in an invitation-only test which allows them to identify their automated accounts with this label,\u201d the FAQ adds. But according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2021\/9\/9\/22665748\/twitter-automated-account-bot-labels-tweets-test\">The Verge<\/a>, all developers should be able to use the label by the end of the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/twitter-bots-60.jpeg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"twitter bot labels\" class=\"wp-image-19411457\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/twitter-bots-60.jpeg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/twitter-bots-60.jpeg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/twitter-bots-60.jpeg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>The label is currently only available to a limited number of bot accounts.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Twitter<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Twitter has been considering implementing such a program for years, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2021\/09\/09\/twitter-introduces-a-new-label-that-allows-the-good-bots-to-identify-themselves\/\">according to industry news site TechCrunch<\/a>: During a 2018 Senate Intelligence Committee, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey conceded platform users have a \u201cright to know\u201d whether they are interacting with a human or a robot while on the site.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Other recent rollouts by the social media platform have included a \u201csuper follows\u201d option which allows users to charge others $2.99, $4.99 or $9.99 per month to follow them.
