“#A Tougher Fight, More About CRM \u2026 and Rick?<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

The undead hereare known as \u201cempties,\u201d but World Beyond<\/i>\u2019s second and final season is chock-full of answers. Mostly about the Civic Republic Military (CRM), the shadowy cabal that\u2019s already gotten its hands on The Walking Dead<\/i>\u2019s Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln<\/a>) as well as several Fear<\/i> survivors, in addition to terrorizing many on Beyond<\/i> (set 10 years after the start of the apocalypse).<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re going to get a lot of insight about what you\u2019ve heard passed around between Dead<\/i> and Fear<\/i>,\u201d notes Aliyah Royale<\/a>, who plays fierce teen Iris Bennett.<\/p>\n

Last season, Iris and her edgy adoptive sister Hope (Alexa Mansour<\/a>) left the safe haven of Nebraska\u2019s Campus Colony for New York to locate their scientist dad, Leo (Joe Holt), who was sent there to research the dead for CRM. Their perilous trek was joined by Colony security officers Felix Carlucci (Nico Tortorella<\/a>) and Jennifer \u201cHuck\u201d Mallick (Annet Mahendru<\/a>), brainy teen Elton Ortiz (Nicholas Cantu) and violent loner Silas Plaskett (Hal Cumpston).<\/p>\n

Over countless miles of dystopian terrain, it was revealed that Huck was sabotaging the journey. She framed Silas for trying to kill fellow survivor Percy (Ted Sutherland<\/a>) and for actually killing Percy\u2019s uncle Tony (Scott Adsit<\/a>), and she sliced Felix\u2019s ankle during a zombie attack\u2014all part of a secret mission to deliver Hope solo to coldhearted CRM Lt. Col. Elizabeth Kublek (Julia Ormond<\/a>), Huck\u2019s mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first couple of episodes are kind of a mind trip<\/a>,\u201d says Mansour. \u201cThere are some insane scenes between [Kublek] and Hope.\u201d And it was only a matter of time before the group saw CRM\u2019s true intentions. \u201cThat\u2019s the thing about large organizations [like the CRM]\u2014they talk about doing things for the common good, but it\u2019s a terrible thing they\u2019re actually doing,\u201d Royale says.<\/p>\n

Still, \u201cthe asset\u201d (aka Hope) winds up in CRM custody, along with Silas, who sacrificed himself to let Elton and Percy escape. The first season closed with a betrayed Iris and Felix encountering a band of survivors in the woods\u2014led by Felix\u2019s beau, Will (Jelani Alladin, promoted to series<\/a> regular with Holt, Sutherland and Natalie Gold).<\/p>\n

\u201cNow the fight is harder,\u201d offers Tortorella of Season 2\u2019s race to save Hope and expose the shady agency. \u201cWe realize pretty quickly that the CRM isn\u2019t just one group of people\u2014there are different sects underneath. But as the season progresses, we start to get pieces of the bigger puzzle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd who knows,\u201d Mansour says teasingly. \u201cYou might even see Rick!\u201d<\/p>\n
