\n A Buffalo man convicted of torturing his girlfriend by repeatedly whipping, burning and strangling her has been sentenced to 70 years in prison, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n

Kaiden Haynes, 28, was sentenced Thursday after being convicted in March for what a prosecutor called \u201cunspeakable violence\u201d he doled out to a Buffalo woman and her son after moving into their apartment in March 2018.<\/p>\n

Two months later, Haynes started terrorizing the pair by repeatedly whipping, beating and strangling the woman, Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said.<\/p>\n

On several occasions, Haynes wrapp<\/a>ed an HDMI audio\/video cable around the woman\u2019s throat, knocking her unconscious and injuring her neck, Flynn said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of the most egregious cases of abuse that has been prosecuted by my office,\u201d the prosecutor said in a statement. \u201cThe victim and her son suffered unspeakable violence at the hands of this defendant.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haynes also abused the woman and her son with various household objects, including a broom and a shovel, the Buffalo News<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors said Haynes\u2019 attacks on the pair further included rubbing alcohol and disinfectant spray, which he used to burn the woman, and hitting her son with the handle of a refrigerator.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have never seen a case as this one,\u201d said Erie County Prosecutor Holly Tucker, who characterized Haynes as a \u201cmonster,\u201d according to the Buffalo News.<\/p>\n

Haynes, who was arrested in January 2019, had faced up to 97 years in prison. He was sentenced Thursday via video and was also ordered by a judge to have no contact with the victims until January 2097, prosecutors said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
