Tracking someone\u2019s location is a touchy subject, but there are legitimate reasons why you might want to do it. One common example is tracking your child\u2019s location. We\u2019ll show you how to keep an eye on their whereabouts.<\/p>\n

Google\u2019s Family Link service offers a bunch of handy features including location tracking. The nice thing about Family Link is the process is very transparent. The child\u2019s device gets a notification when you\u2019re tracking it. No one should be unknowingly tracked.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> In order to use Family Link to track location, your child will need to have an Android device signed in with an account linked to your Google family.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

First, open the \u201cFamily Link For Parents\u201d app<\/a> on your\u00a0iPhone<\/a>,\u00a0iPad<\/a>, or\u00a0Android<\/a>\u00a0device. Your child needs to be using Android, but you can track them from any device. Select the child who you would like to track.<\/p>\n

Scroll down to the Location card and tap \u201cSet Up.\u201d<\/p>\n

A pop-up message will explain that your child\u2019s device will have location turned on and their location will be share with you until you turn it off. Tap \u201cTurn On\u201d to proceed.<\/p>\n

\"Select<\/p>\n

Tracking will immedia<\/a>tely begin. You\u2019ll now see a new card on your child\u2019s page with their location shown on a map. There are shortcuts to navigate to their location and refresh the location. You can also \u201cLabel\u201d the location.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s all there is to it. To turn location tracking off, go to your child\u2019s page and tap \u201cManage Settings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now select \u201cLocation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Toggle the switch off for \u201cSee Your Child\u2019s Location.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s really as simple as that. You can track your child\u2019s device whenever you want right from your own device. Maybe you need to track your kid during a trip<\/a> away from home or they\u2019re grounded. Whatever the situation may be, Family Link<\/a> is your best method.<\/p>\n
