\n The misery of 2020 couldn\u2019t even take a break to make way for the much-awaited limited opening of the city\u2019s public pool system Friday, as thunderstorms passing through the Big App<\/a>le kept swimmers out of the water for much of the day.<\/p>\n

At the Parks Department\u2019s outdoor pool in Sunset Park, the lightning forced officials to keep the water clear until shortly before 2 pm.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve just waited for a whole year,\u201d said teenager Christopher Lopez, who told The Post he\u2019d been waiting with two pals since 9 am to hop in.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll do whatever it takes just to go in,\u201d added Lopez, for whom the pool is no stupid love. \u201cHopefully, it can open in a bit, we\u2019re just [looking to] have a fun time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really just have to do something fun for 2020, you know? 2020\u2019s been a disaster,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

The Brooklyn facility was one of eight public pools slated to reopen on Friday, while another seven pools are set to reopen next week.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re doing their best and I think it\u2019s great that they\u2019re opening at all,\u201d said mom Andrea Janes, who held daughter Alise in her arms. \u201cWe didn\u2019t expect them to open this summer,\u00a0 so we\u2019re just happy to get any pool time that we can.\u201d<\/p>\n
