Specifically it was producer Kenny Beats&#8217; server on that platform that van Rensburg was sharing his music so it makes sense that the pair would connect on &#8220;Lowlife,&#8221; the teenager&#8217;s debut single on new label XL Recordings.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            Mixing scruffy guitars with cavernous drums, &#8220;Lowlife&#8221; is a slacker anthem for those of us cursed with self-doubt and a tendency towards introspection. It&#8217;s not even that van Rensburg is alone, as he states &#8220;Got the girl but I&#8217;m still a loner.&#8221; Regardless, he can&#8217;t help but wonder &#8220;am I really what you want?&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>            Stumbling through his emotions as he moves forward in life, &#8220;Lowlife&#8221; is a relatable tale of uncertainty and self-destruction tied up in a scratchy indie pop tune. It comes accompanied by a video involving a lot of cardboard cut-outs and an unlikely breakfast eating champion. I was hesitant but agreed, always good to give smaller producers some exposure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>            Kenny Beats, meanwhile, added: \u201cFrom the first time I heard Dillon\u2019s music, I knew there was something different about his perspective.
