If you’re an artist and Pok\u00e9mon <\/i><\/b>fan, Creatures Inc.’s Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game<\/a> <\/i><\/b>has an opportunity for you. For the past few years, the company has held a Pok\u00e9mon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix <\/b>contest in Japan, and this year’s event marks the first time for it to be open to artists in the United States.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The theme<\/a> at the core of this year’s contest is a moment in a Pok\u00e9mon’s daily life, so consider that the drawing prompt for those eager to enter. Thankfully, the prize isn’t just “exposure” and the ability to get your art featured on a promo card. The Grand Prize also includes a cash value of $5,000.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The two first runner-ups from Japan and the US will get a cash value of $3,000 and their art made into a promo card, and the two second runner-ups will get a cash value of $1,000. Finally, 15 entrants will be selected as Judges’ Award Winners from either Japan or the US and will get a cash value of $500.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Judges for the contest include The Pok\u00e9mon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara<\/b>, Creatures Inc. president Hirokazu Tanaka<\/b>, The Pok\u00e9mon Company International president Kenji Okubo<\/b>, Creatures Inc. senior executive director Yuji Kitano<\/b>, Creatures Inc art director Satoru Nagaya<\/b>, Creatures Inc executive director\/CG studio art director Atsuko Ujiie<\/b>, and a trio of Pok\u00e9mon TCG <\/i>illustrators: Kouki Saitou<\/b>, Tomokazu Komiya<\/b>, and AKIRA EGAWA<\/b>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Limited to Japan and the US, the contest runs from October 13, 2021 at 8:00pm PT to January 31, 2022 at 6:59pm PT<\/b>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
