After launching the HTC Vive Pro 2 headset earlier this year, VR newcomers can finally pre-order the full HTC Vive Pro 2 kit<\/a> with wireless controllers and motion-tracking base stations. The kit costs $1,400 and orders ship mid-October.<\/p>\n

HTC\u2019s Vive Pro 2 launch schedule is interesting, to say the least. The company first offered the headset as a standalone product without any accessories to ensure that its existing Vive Pro owners (who already own base stations and controllers) could put in their orders before anyone else.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re not sure if HTC did this to skirt supply chain issues or to keep existing customers from buying the latest Oculus headset. Either way, newbies can finally buy the HTC Vive Pro 2 kit and enjoy the system\u2019s glorious 5K 120Hz display. And it really is a nice display\u2014a wide 120-degree panel that wraps around your head and lacks an annoying screen-door effect<\/a>? Count me in.<\/p>\n
