If you\u2019re using multiple desktops through the virtual desktops feature in Windows 11, you can <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/741466\/how-to-set-different-wallpapers-for-virtual-desktops-on-windows-11\/\">set a different picture for each virtual desktop. You can either select from a group of \u201cRecent Images\u201d by clicking a thumbnail, or click \u201cBrowse Folders\u201d and select an image you\u2019d like to use that is stored on your PC.<\/p>\n<p>(In case you get lost while browsing for an image, Windows 11 stores its built-in wallpapers in <code>C:WindowsWebWallpaper<\/code> by default.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-753829\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/win11_picture_options.jpg?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"With the &quot;Picture&quot; option, choose a recent image or browse for one.\" width=\"650\" height=\"276\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Under the \u201cChoose a fit for your desktop image\u201d drop-down menu, select the option that suits you best.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fill:<\/strong> This stretches or compresses the image to fit the width of your screen while keeping the proper aspect ratio.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fit:<\/strong> This stretches or compresses the image to fit the height of your screen while keeping the proper aspect ratio.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stretch:<\/strong> This stretches or compresses the image you select to fit within the dimensions of the screen without preserving the image\u2019s original aspect ratio.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tile:<\/strong> This repeats the image as a tile from left-to-right starting in the upper-left corner until it fills the entire desktop screen space.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Center:<\/strong> This displays the image centered on your screen at its original size and aspect ratio.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Span:<\/strong> This option will display an image across desktops on multiple monitors, spanning them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Choosing_a_Solid_Color_as_Your_Desktop_Background\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_2\">Choosing a Solid Color as Your Desktop Background<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you select \u201cSolid Color\u201d in the \u201cPersonalize Your Background,\u201d you can either choose one of the pre-selected background colors from the grid of colored squares, or you can select a custom color by clicking \u201cView Colors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-753828\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/pick_a_color.jpg?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"With the &quot;Solid Color&quot; option, click a color in the grid.\" width=\"650\" height=\"287\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Remember that this \u201cSolid Color\u201d option will apply to all of your virtual desktops at the same time.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Setting_a_Slideshow_as_Your_Desktop_Background\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_3\">Setting a Slideshow as Your Desktop Background<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you select \u201cSlideshow\u201d in the \u201cPersonalize Your Background\u201d drop-down menu, you\u2019ll see options that let you browse for a folder that contains images you want to cycle through over time. After selecting the folder, you can set how often the picture changes with the \u201cChange Picture Every\u201d drop-down menu.
